USDA Office of Operations TARGET Center Commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Contributions of Individuals with Disabilities at USDA and America’s Workplaces
Beginning on Monday, October 2, 2023 and continuing through Thursday, November 2, 2023, please join the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Operations TARGET Center as we virtually host our 2023 National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) Symposium. Our Symposium will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and celebrate the many and varied contributions of employees with disabilities. This year’s NDEAM theme is “Advancing Access & Equity.”
USDA established the TARGET Center 30 years ago to support the Department’s workforce diversity and Federal Workforce policies. The USDA TARGET Center addresses a wide spectrum of accessibility and accommodation interests, including assistive technology accommodations for individuals with disabilities, ergonomic design and injury prevention, partnerships to improve disability diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) and the expansion of innovative practices to enhance USDA’s employer of choice capability.
The TARGET Center’s resources are essential to employment for individuals with cognitive, communication, dexterity, hearing, and visual disabilities and affirm USDA’s commitment to dismantling barriers to access, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
