Ja’Nelle DeVore
Ms. DeVore has over 30 years of professional experience in federal continuity programs, various cybersecurity work roles, the private sector, and the intelligence community (IC). She is a recognized cybersecurity leader with a track record of success in complex operational IT environments and has an in-depth knowledge of FISMA, risk management, federal cyber laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Ms DeVore has proudly served in the United States Air Force (USAF) supporting various missions world-wide, to include working in the White House supporting both the Clinton and Bush Administrations.
Ms. DeVore was the Department of Commerce (DOC), Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief of Staff from April 2019 until her recent transfer to the USDA. As the Chief of Staff, she directly supported the Department’s CIO and was responsible for streamlined implementation of tactical and strategic priorities within the office.
While at Commerce, Ms. DeVore also served as the Director of National Security Solutions and Services (NS3), responsible for leading the department’s national security information technology (IT) program and managing the supporting network infrastructure. Dual-hatted, she was also detailed as the acting Deputy CIO and CISO for the Department of Commerce, responsible for providing executive leadership for the Department’s Cybersecurity Program.
Prior to joining DOC, Ja’Nelle was the Director of the Joint Cybersecurity Coordination Center (JC3) and Client Services for the Department of Energy (DOE). In this role she was accountable for managing JC3 Incident Prevention and Response activities, cyber threat intelligence collaboration with internal/external partners and represented DOE at Policy Coordination Committees (PCC) meetings related to cyber and international policy development.
