Danielle Farley


Danielle Farley serves as Acting Chief of Staff of the Office of the Chief Scientist. In this role, she provides administrative support to the Director and Deputy Director.

Danielle provides expertise in risk, crisis, and safety communication, knowledge management, and creating communities of practice. She received a Master and Bachelor of Art in Communication from the University of Montana and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Southern Illinois University. Prior to joining OCS, she works at the National Institute of Food and Agriculture as a Social Science Program Specialist where she provided program leadership for the Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program (VMLRP), Veterinary Services Grant Program (VSGP), and the AFRI program Rapid Response to Extreme Weather Across Food and Agricultural Systems. Danielle’s interest in agriculture began with involvement in a local 4-H chapter. She also served as an AmeriCorps volunteer providing garden enhanced nutrition education and has experience managing a small organic vegetable farm. Her career interest with USDA began after being selected for the USDA Student Diversity Program in 2012.
