(Washington, D.C., April 27, 2017) – Secretary Sonny Perdue hosted a bipartisan breakfast with agriculture leaders from the U.S. House of Representatives today at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The breakfast marks the first time Secretary Perdue has met with the leaders, which include: Representatives Michael Conaway, (Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, TX-11), Collin Peterson (Ranking Member, MN-07), Robert Aderholt (Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies, AL-04), and Sanford Bishop (Ranking Member, GA-02). Following the breakfast, Secretary Perdue issued this statement:

“It was an honor to host members from both parties this morning, and I am pleased to know that reaching across the aisle is common practice for these leaders,” said Secretary Perdue. “A proud tradition of bipartisanship is the only way to get things done, and I am confident we will accomplish great things for American agriculture.”
