Cross posted from the White House Rural Champions of Change website:

Deborah is the Vice President of Food and Farms at Ecotrust, a non-profit organization based in Oregon. She has led the way on some incredibly innovative and meaningful projects that are supporting Northwest farmers, ranchers and fishermen while bringing healthy, local food to school cafeterias throughout the state.

One of these projects, FoodHub, allows for rural producers and institutional purchasers to set up profiles and link up with one another, similar to Craigslist or even Match.com. She is also the publisher of Edible Portland magazine, a seasonal publication that champions Northwest farmers, ranchers and fishermen on a quarterly basis.
