A little over one week remains in the Apps for Healthy Kids voting period, and so far, over 11,500 votes have been tallied. In addition, support for the initiative continues to amplify, with the number of supporters reaching nearly 30,000! Of the 95 games and tools in the application gallery, favorites are beginning to emerge, but there is still time to vote for the apps that you think are most deserving of the $4,500 Popular Choice Awards.
We received entries from students, entrepreneurs, and organizations in 29 states and the District of Columbia. And with those numbers, chances are pretty good that some of them come from your neck of the woods. Be sure to visit www.AppsforHealthyKids.com to look for apps from your state and, give them your vote before the August 14 deadline.
But don’t stop there. Tell your friends and family about the entries you like the best. Word is already spreading as seen in recent news articles in the Los Angeles Times and The Chattanoogan highlighting local entries.
If you can’t find a local favorite, give a shout-out to your hometown by registering as an Apps for Healthy Kids supporter on the challenge homepage. You’ll also be in the loop to receive the latest Apps for Healthy Kids news.
Remember that a total of $60,000 in prizes is up for grabs, so do your part to make sure the best games and tools win!
