U.S. broiler meat exports to Sub-Saharan Africa have increased 24 percent since 2010 and 460 percent since 2001.

The U.S. is the largest supplier of China’s turkey meat imports, totaling nearly 90 percent of all imports. Turkey meat imports to China in 2011 will increase 70 percent over 2010.

Reams of data about the global markets for poultry and eggs are available online – and free of charge – to the U.S. poultry and egg industries. The report, USDA Weekly International Egg and Poultry Review, is compiled by the Agricultural Marketing Service’s Poultry Market News and Analysis Division.

The report is a valuable resource for U.S. poultry and egg industries striving to sustain a successful competitive balance. The report is routinely followed by U.S. companies, international investment banks, research companies and consultants.

In 1998, the experts from the Poultry Market News and Analysis Division recognized the need for timely information covering the global markets for poultry products. They quickly launched the USDA Weekly International Egg and Poultry Review to provide an overview of international poultry and egg markets that are current or potential export destinations for U.S. producers.

Other summaries included in the report highlight poultry and egg production by competing countries positioning for export market share, and significant global issues and events that have the potential to impact the marketing of U.S. poultry products abroad.

The report has also gained a loyal following across the globe. Many online news services regularly cite the USDA Weekly International Egg and Poultry Review while numerous international newsletters and libraries link to the report on the Agricultural Marketing Service website.

Each week two prominent international newsletters published in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom carry the report. Editors in India, China and Brazil frequently refer or link the report to their readership.
