Secretary Perdue Swears In USDA’s Principal Deputy Chief Financial Officer Scott Soles

(Washington, D.C., August 13, 2019) – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today administered the oath of office to swear in Scott Soles to serve as the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Principal Deputy Chief Financial Officer.

“Scott Soles brings decades of experience with him to Washington and we are excited to welcome him to our USDA team,” Secretary Perdue said. “With over 30 years of experience in internal and external financial auditing, consulting, and finance operations, Scott will bring valuable financial management experience and knowledge to USDA.”

About (George) Scott Soles:

Born in Pennsylvania, Scott grew up in Oxnard, California. He graduated with a degree in Accounting from Southwest Texas State University in 1986. Scott is a CPA and has a Certification in Financial Forensics. Soles has worked extensively with organizations on a global scale, with a focus on international oil and gas, energy and related support services. He also has experience in areas such as Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters, SOX 404 compliance and consulting, risk assessment framework creation and facilitation and more. He has a reputation for being an open-minded, friendly coworker with an innovative mind for problem identification and resolution. Most recently, Scott was a Senior Financial Projects Analyst residing with his family in Houston, Texas.
