USDA and HHS jointly release new 10 Tips to help women, men, and teens in making healthy choices!

March is National Nutrition Month®, the time we remind ourselves of the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.  Four new MyPlate 10 Tips have been developed to target women, teen girls, men, and teen guys. Find them online at ChooseMyPlate.gov!  These new 10 Tips provide accurate, informative nutrition resources for women, teen girls, men, and teen guys through the 10 Tips Nutrition Education series.

The four new resources target:

  • Women's Health: Make Better Food Choices [color] NEW
  • Teen Girls: Eat Smart and Be Active As You Grow [color] NEW
  • Men's Health: Get the Facts to Feel and Look Better [color] NEW
  • Teen Guys: Choose the Foods You Need To Grow [color] NEW

The new 10 Tips are a collaborative initiative between the US Department of Agriculture, Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP) and the HHS Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Office of Women’s Health (OWH).  They were developed using content from HRSA’s Bright Futures for Women’s Health and Wellness Physical Activity and Healthy Eating resources, based on the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

The availability of the 10 Tips has been highlighted on ChooseMyPlate.gov during National Nutrition Month, and will continue to be promoted through Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms maintained by USDA and the federal agencies/offices represented by the HHS Coordinating Committee on Women's Health.  These new 10 Tips will also be available in Spanish.
